Read about our rebrand from Talkout to Reelyze
2023 has started off with a bang. We've secured our first round of funding after validation with some major large enterprises and we are looking to grow and expand the capability of the platform. As Talkout we have had the opportunity to build an amazing employee experience platform solving multiple business challenges around communication and connection, but what we 'Reelyzed' along the way (sorry about the pun), was for our customers, employee experience was just one part of their challenge. The biggest challenge was actually around WHAT was being shared. We noticed the most compelling content shared was based on transferring knowledge and skills, showing somebody how to do something, updating company processes, and ensuring people had the 'know-how' to do the tasks at hand. In many ways building an extraordinary social platform to connect, communicate, and enhance employe experience has provided the perfect foundation for learning and knowledge transfer.
Out of the box, the platform addresses multiple, learning, distribution, communication, feedback, and engagement challenges that can't be solved by LMS and LXPs that were never built to connect disparate, desk-less workforces, all from a single piece of tech. We have taken what we discovered from working with our early customers and further defined the business case for generating real returns initially across manufacturing, retail, education, and telecoms. It also became clear to us, our existing brand didn't reflect our capabilities and future growth plans. So we've rebranded to Reelyze.
I mentioned previously, we realised there was more power to be had from sharing knowledge than just sharing connections and communication. Our focus has pivoted towards building out the features and the functions of the platform that are laser-focused on learning development and being able to share knowledge and skills.
Tik-Tok, Instagram,Youtube, the world is full of video and it has become the go-to medium for learning new skills. Yet no one had capitalised on this for business so we set to work. The team has done an amazing job building our knowledge reels, which are essentially Tik-Tok for business. However our Reels contain extra components like quizzes at the end of a reel to check people have understood what they have watched, learned the skill and are confident be able to complete the task. This uniquely also provides valuable feedback to the business around employee confidence levels and overall engagement.
More importantly, that capability to create Reels can be made available to every employee, if the business chooses to. We want to enable businesses to leverage technology, like reels to share knowledge, to relevant people and solve knowledge requirements. Whether that's a product update, training on how to use a new card machine, changing a car battery, finding what the right tire sizes are, how to do the turndown service correctly, basically, anything that people may well have been trained face to face on can be digitised in moments with Reelyze and a smartphone.
Creating new knowledge is important, but equally so, is retaining existing knowledge in the business. Particularly that of your most skilled and experienced people which is difficult to replace. Once knowledge has been created on Reelyze, it's there forever, for everybody. It's searchable. And with AI, we can do an amazing job at delivering those search results. Reels has been a huge steps forward in the evolution of our platform and has formed a key part of the brand. In part it's what spurned the name Reelyze. The other key innovation in the platform is conversational learning, which is our virtual learning assistant, Eve.
Using our drag-and-drop creator (it is super simple anyone can use it) you can program Eve to deliver training in a conversational format. You can add just about any content type into the conversation flow from Reels, images, Games and Youtube Videos and then combine that with a interactive messaging and AI-generated Avatars to create highly engaging mobile learning. As we have built Eve to interact through conversation you can do some really amazing stuff replicating the need for peer-to-peer interactions. Eve enables you to coach, question, test, and route in a truly unique way. Conversational learning delivers a far richer experience for the user, and much better data points for a business (you can track and record any response in the conversation flow enabling you to gather real time learner insights. It completely revolutionises the way that people learn new skills.
It's been fantastic to see our technology validated as breaking new ground. One of our largest customers who's in the vocational training sector has stated that Reelyze is the greatest innovation in learning in 20 years. We've seen further ratification from customers in manufacturing, with 93% of their users recommending conversational learning as a format to learn a new skill. We've also seen an average course completion rate of 93% across the platform which we are incredibly proud of.
With those statisticsso far, and with reels launching imminently customers are very excited about being able to capture and share knowledge super quickly. As a team, we are excited for what the future holds and helping organisations solve three big problems, (and many others) with Reelyze.
When you have to change a process a task, or train people up on something new, how do you do it? How do you do train potentially 1000s of people all at once? For businesses that rely on face-to-face training it's nigh on impossible. And secondly, how do you make it so that process of creating training is almost instant?
In Reelyze it takes very little time to create training and even less time to distribute. You can then track it to make sure the audience has completed it and check their confidence on what they have learnt.
Problem number two, is about knowledge itself. When people want to find knowledge, how do they do that? Organisations have spent millions on customer feedback systems and knowledge bases for customers queries, yet little has been invested in their own employees beyond clunky intranets that no one uses! It seems illogical. So how does a business make sure that all of their knowledge is searchable in an instant, by anybody, wherever they are, when they need it?
Whether I'm a retail worker needing to understand how to do a refund or a member of the bar staff who can't remember how to make a Mojito, or a production assistant that wants to make sure the process they are running on the line is right. How do you make sure that when somebody has a, 'how do I do that' question, they can instantly access an answer? They don't have to wait for a phone call back, a manager, a colleague or worse wait a week or month for training to be delivered.
With Reelyze they can get an answer from the platform in seconds, and they can also get an answer from any body in their group. We're also looking at some really clever ways of using AI to automate finding answers so it becomes a self-managing knowledge platform. It's really exciting.
In every organisation across the world people leave, and so does their knowledge. In most of the industry sectors we work in, turnover levels range from 10% right the way up to 45%.
When 45% of staff are leaving every year, onboarding is tough. How do you make sure that everyone is trained, and more importantly when critical people leave how do you make sure that their knowledge doesn't walk out the door with them?
With conversational learning and Reels, creating and cataloguing employee knowledge is simple, and even after an employee has left their knowledge is in the platform helping other people to do their jobs every day.
We've got the foundations in place that democratises content creation through reels and conversational learning combined with Eve, our virtual learning assistant we are easing the burden and expectation placed on training and L&D teams. We want organisations to leverage the creator network that exists in their workforce and get the know-how out of the brains of their people and digitised for every person's benefit.
Eve, has an enormous potential to help overworked, under resourced HR and L&D teams, effectively becoming an always-on trainer available to educate and upskill people anywhere, anytime. But she will be able to do much more in the future helping to highlight knowledge gaps and plugging them through automated comms to relevant teams to generate the required training or use external sources.
Our goal by the end of this year is to have the beginning of a self-managing knowledge platform meaning that L&D or HR can turn it on and it will create the content, find the gaps, fill the gaps, without any investment from the business bar, the platform itself using the power of the knowledge that exists in their business already.
If any of the aforementioned problems strike a chord we would love to talk to you. In half anhour we can show you how you can scale the creation and distribution of knowledge, capture important business IP, practical skills, process changes tasks etc, and make sure everybody does the same thing, the same way and improve performance and productivity. And the platform itself is incredibly cost-effective, less than a third of the cost of many other systems in the learning space.
